Celebrating double honours

Our prizewinning year at Oyster Travel… so far

We’ve had a busy but incredible year so far at Oyster Travel, and we’re thrilled to share some exciting news with our Oyster family – we’ve won two regional agency of the year awards! So, if there was ever any doubt as to which Norfolk travel agency you should trust when planning your next adventure, you can be confident we’re the top choice.

Earlier this year in May, we were delighted to be named the top travel agency in the East of England by TTG and part of the publication’s Top 50 travel agencies in the UK and Ireland.

Recognised for our outstanding customer service and agency expertise, the award reflects the dedication, passion, and commitment of our team. Here’s what our managing director, Vicky Samwell-Buckenham, had to say:

We’re over the moon to be named the top travel agency in the East of England. This was such a tough category, and it means so much to see all our hard work rewarded. I want to give credit to our team – it’s a huge pat on the back for their dedication this last year. This is a real milestone moment for us.

Then, only a month later, we were subsequently named the Regional Agency of the Year for East of England (Small Agency) at the 2024 Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards. Travel Weekly’s annual awards show celebrates the UK and Ireland’s best travel agents and agencies, spotlighting those who demonstrate exceptional customer service and product delivery. Our managing directors, Vicky Samwell-Buckenham and Sophie Baker, were beyond thrilled to accept the prize at the awards ceremony in June, with Vicky commenting:

Winning two regional agency awards in such a short period is a tremendous honour! We’ve worked really hard this year to enhance our already excellent service offering.

Our strategic customer triage system, for instance, now matches each customer with the most suitable travel consultant, ensuring we deliver the best possible service and tailor our trips to each customers’ individual needs.

It’s such an exciting time here at Oyster Travel, and we look forward to growing our fantastic, evolving team further in the months to come.

Indeed, our newly formed customer support team offers a dedicated point of contact for all post-booking questions or changes – everything from travel documentation to pre-departure check-ins, as well as additional support during and after your holiday.

In short, we do whatever we can to ensure you experience the best travel experience possible.

The double honours – from TTG and Travel Weekly – echoes our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation, while also serving as a motivating force for Oyster Travel, as we continue to push boundaries, maintain our high standards, and evolve as a company.

But we’re not done celebrating just yet – we also turn 15 this year, so happy birthday to us! Since our founding in 2009, we’ve been on an incredible journey, and we’re deeply grateful for the support we’ve received over the years.
