Our story

Sophie, our co-managing director and founder, started Oyster Travel in 2009, with only a small team of (number) and a big love of travel. 

In the years since, our dedication to helping customers make precious memories through travel has led us to where we are today. 

We now have over (number) of Oyster pearls in our team who all live and breathe travel – and we were immensely proud to be named the top travel agency in the East of England by both TTG and the Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards in 2024.

Travel Consultant

  • To sell and book holidays by establishing the customers travel needs to provide the right product and destination.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through genuine relationship management and a desire to exceed customer needs.
  • Capture and record required client information.
  • Provide expert travel advice on products and destinations.
  • Build rapport with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Extend product and destination knowledge through supplier training and own research.
  • Proactively identify, take ownership, and resolve customer queries.
  • To ensure an excellent standard of customer service is always provided.
  • Collecting and processing payments.
  • Achieve monthly / annual goals.
  • Advising clients on travel arrangements, e.g., visas and passports.
  • To ensure the company’s values are always demonstrated.
  • 2 years minimum experience of working within a travel agency.
  • A genuine desire to achieve results, both personally and as part of a successful team.
  • Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and be comfortable with multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Resilience to deal with complex queries in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving / exceeding targets.
  • Have a passion for travel!
